Introduction
We support our visitors in various ways, offering help with housing and homelessness issues. We do this with both outreach visits around the Waterside and by running Drop-In Centres. We’re also available over the phone via email and on Facebook.
Drop-In Centres
WE ARE OPEN….
Maybe you just need a place to come and talk about your situation or you are keen to take steps toward a more stable, hopeful future. Our Project Leader and trained volunteers offer a warm welcome and a range of services at our Waterside Drop-In Centres, provided weekly, as detailed below.

Hythe DWP pop-up
This is a valuable partnership with the Job Centre Plus in Hythe. One of the team is available to support with housing support as we might at our drop-in centres. Why not ask for your work coach appointment to co-inside with our sessions & chat with us afterwards?
Every 2nd & 4th Thursday of the month. 2pm ’till 4pm
Areas of help can include:
- form filling or UC applications – “I’m not so good on computers”.
- assisting with referrals to NFDC – “I’m being evicted” “I’m sofa-surfing”.
- liaising between tenants and landlords – “I can’t get through to my landlord”.
Our Services
Support
- A safe space providing the opportunity to talk about concerns in a confidential and accepting environment.
- Free WiFi, use of a computer and mobile phone charging.
- Help getting back into accommodation.
- IT help applying for NFDC’s Homesearch application/benefits
Signposting
- We work with other agencies – both statutory and other voluntary services in order to offer help accessing housing, benefits, debt and other related issues. We have information about these offering our visitors the chance to find the best places for the help they are looking for.
Snacks
- Hot drinks and snacks available.
- Drinks served in single use disposable cups & where possible most of our snacks are individually wrapped to reduce cross contamination.

Homesearch Registering
Would you like to be considered for New Forest District Council housing? If you are not already you will need to apply to be on the NFDC’s Homesearch Register.
